| (2)授業の概要 | 上述のねらいを達成するために、主にAcademic Writing, Academic Reading及びAcademic Speakingの演習を行う。
・Academic Writing:
エッセイライティング用の教材を用いて演習を行い、3～5パラグラフからなる論理的且つ説得力のある英語論文をつくる。
・Academic Reading:
専門的な英語文献を読解することで、専門課程の学術探究で必要とされる読解力を磨く。
・Academic Speaking:
学際的なプレゼンテーションの実践を通じて、英語のコミュニケーション・プレゼンテーションスキルを磨く。

| (4)授業計画 | The textbook has 4 units. Units 5 to 8. Typically we will spend four lessons on each unit.
Lessons include the teachers explanations, group discussions, taking up homework from the textbook and starting textbook work. While this is a reading and writing course there is also much group discussion about what we are learning and (sharing) paragraphs students have written.
Homework: textbook reading and writing exercises, paragraph writing
Units 5 and 7 will end with an essay assignment based on that unit. Units 6 and 8 will end with a test based on each unit.

| (7)事前事後学習の内容 | ※この授業は90時間の学修を必要とする内容です。従って，60時間以上の時間外学習が必要となります。
Important: You must do weekly reading and writing homework assigned. If you are absent you are responsible to email the teacher or contact a classmate and find out what classwork and homework you missed.

| (8)履修上の注意 | 授業への積極的な参加と定期的に出題される課題への意欲的な取り組みが必要である。また、授業外の時間に、なるべく多く英語にふれる機会をつくるようにしてほしい。なお、担当教員によって使用するテキストが異なる場合があるため、詳しい授業の内容などについては担当教員から直接説明をよく聞くこと。
